Massage Therapy Massage may be the oldest and simplest form of health care. Egyptian tomb paintings show people receiving massage. In Eastern cultures, massage has been practiced continually since ancient times. Massage therapy sessions are tailored to what you need in the moment, whether it is stress relief, pain relief, or emotional balancing. Receiving massage reduces depression, relieves headaches, eliminates toxins, increases blood circulation. Massage is great for many conditions including ADHD, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, eating disorders, fibromyalgia, insomnia, low back pain, and traumas. CranioSacral Therapy CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of body therapy which corrects problems of the head, neck, and spine and influences the functioning of the entire nervous system. The CranioSacral System is composed of the bones, membranes, and fluid which surround, envelope, and nourish the brain and spinal cord. This system controls and directs all of our body processes. Injuries, disease, stress, or trauma anywhere in the body can cause restrictions in the free movement of these membranes. Because of the protective nature of this system, CranioSacral Therapy utilizes a very small force, usually less than an ounce, to avoid engaging the resistance of the tissue. By working with the body instead of against it, this form of treatment is capable of affecting profound changes without pain or discomfort. |

Holistic Health Counseling I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole. My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Kate cares about her clients, her craft, and doing great work.” -M. K. Northampton, MA “I highly recommend Kate. She is incredibly professional. She made me feel totally relaxed even before the massage. I can tell she has had training in energy work because I was able to feel my mind relax as she massaged me. I have had many massages over the years and Kate used techniques I've never experienced. She seemed to know exactly what my body needed. Thank you Kate!” -V. B. Easthampton, MA "I have been seeing Kate Barvainis for holistic health counseling for over a year, and working with her has helped me very much. I appreciate her demeanor, her knowledge of nutrition and health issues, and her common-sense approach to counseling and living. We have worked on day to day problems, longstanding personal problems, and ways to increase the nutrition I get from food without removing the pleasure. If you are reading this and thinking that maybe you'd like to give Kate a try, I encourage you to do so. I think you would be glad you did." -T. C. Williamsburg, MA "When I came to see Kate, I was struggling with chronic neck pain that I thought would never heal. After one powerful CranioSacral session with her, I've been feeling better than I have in months. So much better, in fact, that I'm now doing handstands in yoga! I strongly recommend Kate's healing touch." -M. T. Easthampton, MA "As someone who has studied massage therapy at a renowned school, CT Center for Massage Therapy, and as someone who really cares for for the art of a good massage, I highly recommend Kate Barvainis.
